Sari Andoni – Oud Joshua Thomson – Alto Saxophone Josh Peters – Oud/Percussion Dana Wygmans – Upright Bass Michael Longoria – Drums Indimaj is an international Arab music collective based in Austin, Texas, founded in 2014 and led by oud player and composer Sari Andoni. Deeply informed by both Middle Eastern musical traditions and jazz, the ensemble features saxophonist Joshua Thomson alongside a rotating collective of musicians with decades of combined experience, consistently engaging in artistic activity across Austin, Europe, and the Middle East. Additional collaborators have included musicians such as Josh Peters and Michael Longoria, contributing to the group’s evolving, cross-cultural sound. Rooted in the modal frameworks of Middle Eastern music while incorporating jazz improvisation, Indimaj creates a dynamic musical language that merges traditional forms with contemporary global influences. Their process of exploration—through composition, improvisation, and international collaboration—emphasizes spontaneity, dialogue, and cultural exchange. Bringing together artists from diverse musical and cultural backgrounds, Indimaj unites long standing traditions with forward-looking artistic expression, resulting in a cohesive, improvisation-rich sound that reflects both a deep respect for heritage and an expansive global vision.
