Join us for a live taping and listening-room concert for Roberto Aponte Quintet Roberto Aponte - Saxophones Blake O’Neal - Guitar Dayne Reliford - Piano Derek Thigpen - Double Bass Israel Yanez - Drums Born in South Austin and raised in San Marcos, saxophonist Roberto Aponte earned a bachelors degree in Jazz Studies from Texas Statue University under the tutelage of Dr. Russell Haight. During his time at Texas State, he found inspiration from Charlie Parker, John Coltrane and Thad Jones. On top of his Jazz experience, Roberto has played with various Latin, Funk, and Brass Bands throughout central Texas. This performance will feature original music composed by Roberto, as well as compositions from Kenny Dorham, Braxton Cook and Thelonious Monk. Please Note: This is a live-taping, so we'll be enforcing a whisper-policy! Cold bottles of still and sparkling water will be available for purchase, but this event is BYOB. Ice will be available if needed, wine keys and 9oz cups provided! 22 free parking spaces onsite are first-come-first-serve.
