Join us for a live taping and listening-room concert for Mark Scott/Bruce Saunders Quartet! Mark Scott - Guitar Bruce Saunders - Guitar Billy Satterwhite - Double Bass Daniel Dufour - Drums Mark is a jazz guitarist, composer, session musician, and educator who is currently based out of Austin, Texas. He holds music performance degrees from The University of North Texas and from The University of Texas, where he most recently served as a Teaching Assistant for their jazz program. He has been fortunate to perform or work with luminaries Helen Sung, Rodney Whitaker, John Fedchock, Eric Alexander, David Lord, & others. As a session musician, Mark playing is featured on “Right on Time” by Half Deluxe, “Questions For Winners” by The Orange Peeling Committee, “The Gloomy Suite” by Yu Nishiyama, “The Journey” by Sol Y Motion, “World Spins” by Anisha, & on upcoming releases from Jason Grant, Sam Dimov, & others. --- Bruce Saunders is a guitarist, composer and educator currently residing in Austin, TX. After receiving his Masters degree in jazz/classical guitar from the University of North Texas in 1986 he moved to New York City where he was a resident until late 2013. During his tenure in NY he recorded, performed and toured with some of the worlds best jazz musicians. Since moving to Austin he has played with many of the world class jazz musicians in the city and state. Saunders is currently a lecturer at the University of Texas/Austin’s Butler School of Music where he teaches private guitar lessons and a faculty member of Berklee’s Online University (BOL) where he developed and teaches two jazz guitar courses. thebillevansguitarproject.bandcamp.com/releases brucesaunders.com --- This concert will feature original compositions from both Bruce Saunders & Mark Scott, as well as showcase the works of some of their favorite jazz composers.
