TXST Bachelors Senior Recital: Alex Roddy Sextet

Join us for a live taping and listening-room concert for the Alex Roddy Sextet! Alexander Roddy - Tenor/Alto Saxophone Joshua Jaime - Alto/Tenor Saxophone James Rubino - Piano Blake O’Neal - Guitar Sean Perkins - Bass Anthony Pacheco - Drums Alexander Roddy is a saxophonist from Dallas, Texas, and is currently a senior jazz performance major at Texas State University in San Marcos. Roddy has been playing music since the age of ten, beginning on clarinet before picking up the tenor saxophone at seventeen years old during his last year of high school. While at university, he studied with multiple great professors, including Dr. Russell Haight and Dr. Joey Colarusso. On top of his studies, Roddy has spent the past couple of years regularly performing as both a band leader and sideman in the Austin and San Antonio areas for a variety of events and genres, including jazz, pop, salsa, and funk. Roddy has performed with multiple musicians from both the local and national scenes, including Terrell Stafford, Isrea Butler, Lee ‘Sparky’ Thomason, Damian Garcia, Carter Arrington, Tito Carrillo, Joey Colarusso, and many more.  Please Note: This is a live-taping, so we'll be enforcing a whisper-policy! Cold bottles of still and sparkling water will be available for purchase, but this event is BYOB. Ice will be available if needed, wine keys and 9oz cups provided! 22 free parking spaces onsite are first-come-first-serve. Doors at 7:45pm, Show at 8pm.
