Join us for a live taping and listening-room concert for Bob Hoffnar and the Mood Illusion - “Things We Wonder…” Vinyl Release Party! Bob Hoffnar - Pedal Steel Guitar Chris McQueen - Guitar Mike St. Clair - Trombone Daniel Dufour - Drums Aaron Allen - Bass Pedal steel guitarist Bob Hoffnar is a major contributor to Austin’s cultural landscape. Originally from Silver Springs, Maryland, Hoffnar graduated from Purchase Conservatory of Music in 1998 with a BFA in Composition. Further private studies included time with such musical luminaries as Lamonte Young, Pandit Pran Nath, and Ernest Tubb’s steel player Buddy Charelton. As a full time working pedal steel player he has worked with artists from Patsy Montana to Iggy and the Stooges. Along with a constant stream of solo and collaborative works he had the international debut of his "Prismatic Listening" installation in Mexico City in May of 2023. The Mood Illusion has created instrumental rendering of The Shaggs’ first album. Capturing the underlying feelings evoked by The Shaggs’ music, this show will be the groups first performance celebrating their release on vinyl through Rock Tumbler Records. Please Note: This is a live-taping, so we'll be enforcing a whisper-policy! Cold bottles of still and sparkling water will be available for purchase, but this event is BYOB. Ice will be available if needed, wine keys and 9oz cups provided! 22 free parking spaces onsite are first-come-first-serve. Doors at 7:45pm, Show at 8pm
