Paul Glasse - Mandolin Mitch Watkins - Guitar Chris Maresh - Bass Mike Gordon - Drums Paul Glasse is a former National Mandolin Champion and is currently regarded as one of the top jazz mandolinists in the world. His recordings have charted internationally on jazz radio, and has been profiled on NPR’s All Things Considered as well as in Gene Lees’ Jazz Letter. The Paul Glasse Group has been featured on the PBS TV show Austin City Limits. Along the way, through playing in a variety of settings and styles, Paul Glasse's credits include touring with Lyle Lovett, performing on the Tonight Show, and at the Washington DC’s Kennedy Center and New York’s Bottom Line. Jazz bass legend Gene Ramey mentored Paul’s musical development and hired him to play in his own group for live performances over a span of multiple years. Paul’s jazz mandolin playing has been cited by: National Association of Jazz Educators, Downbeat Magazine, Jazz Times, Doug Ramsey (contributor to Jazz Times, Down Beat, The Wall Street Journal, The Los Angeles Times) and profiled by Gene Lees (former Down Beat Editor, author of 18 books and lyric collaborator with: Bill Evans, Antonio Carlos Jobim, and Lalo Schifrin. “...one of the planet's most amazing jazz mandolinists...”Ted Eschliman - JazzMando.Com -- Native Texan Mitch Watkins is a guitarist, producer, composer, and educator who has toured and recorded with legendary artists from numerous genres, including Lyle Lovett, Jerry Jeff Walker, Alejandro Escovedo, Joe Ely, Austin favorite Bob Schneider, GRAMMY-winning choral group, Conspirare, and the late Leonard Cohen (Watkins accompanied Cohen on his final world tour). Aside from Watkins’ own recordings, he has appeared as a sideman on many diverse recordings, and has appeared on major television shows such as The Tonight Show, Late Night with David Letterman, and Austin City Limits. Please Note: This is a live-taping, so we'll be enforcing a whisper-policy! Cold bottles of still and sparkling water will be available for purchase, but this event is BYOB.
