Join us for a live taping and listening-room concert for AJS Presents: "Austin's First Lady of Jazz" Pamela Hart Quintet! Pamela Hart - Vocals Elias Haslanger - Saxophone Ryan D. Howard - Piano Chris Jones - Bass Danny Sanchez - Drums Pamela Hart is highly regarded as one of Austin, Texas’ finest vocalist. She is noted by Austin Women’s Magazine as “Austin’s First Lady of Jazz.” Pamela Hart performs with groups as small as a duet or as large as an orchestra. She gives stellar performances in intimate settings, schools, museums, fundraisers, cabaret style, and large concerts. Pamela was inducted in the Austin Jazz Society Hall of Fame in 2018. Winner of the 2023 Best Jazz Performer - Texas Black Music Awards Houston, Pamela also enjoys teaching vocal performance workshops and vocal coaching. Sheltered but not stifled during Covid-19, she live streamed a weekly Sunday House Concert Series on Facebook from March through December 2020. She is the co-founder of the Women in Jazz Association, Inc., a 501©3 organization to keep jazz alive. Pamela and her husband Kevin Hart produced (and she has performed in) the semi-annual Women in Jazz Concert Series—the greatest events for female jazz musicians in Texas for 30 years —1994 through 2024! Her CD “Happy Talk” is a collection of Pamela Hart’s favorite songs most of which she heard became familiar with while growing up in Los Angeles. Pamela performs for everyone from school age to senior communities. Her "Uplift Jazz Project" performances take her to perform in senior communities everywhere! Pamela is also on the Board of Directors of the Texas Music Museum. With her performances, the Women in Jazz Concert Series, Inc., vocal performance workshops, and vocal coaching, Pamela is making a difference in the Austin jazz scene.
