Sammy Epstein – Tenor/Alto Saxophones/Clarinet Aaron Lack – Vibraphone Ben Irom – Piano Alex Bilodeau – Acoustic Bass T.B.D. – Drums Sammy Epstein has been playing jazz in Austin since arriving in 2006 from Portland Oregon, where he was an active band leader/performer in the Portland jazz scene. He currently has an active performance schedule, leading several Austin-based groups: Mirage Jazz Ensemble - (Saxes/Clarinet, Vibraphone, Bass) Sammy’s Satin Sounds (Swing Dance Sextet) Rio Novo (Brazilian Quintet) Sammy Epstein Jazz Duo (Reeds & Piano) Austin Klezmer Ensemble (Klezmer Quintet) Sammy earned a Ph.D. in physics and a J.D., both from University of Oregon. He taught Acoustics and Math/Physics for Recording Engineers at Berklee College of Music in Boston MA, where he attended music classes.
