Join us for a live taping and listening-room concert for the Denis O'Donnell and the Bob Hoffnar Orchestra | Album Release Show! Denis O'Donnell – Vocals & Guitar Bob Hoffnar – Pedal Steel Mike Sailors – Trumpet Dan Walton – Piano Aidan Berg – Bass Denis O’Donnell, 46, is a Houston native who has lived in Austin and worked as a professional musician since 1998. He is the founder of several well-known music venues, including The White Horse, Hard Luck, and Sagebrush, as well as a new restaurant and pub in Lockhart. Inspired by his love for the Nat King Cole Trio, Billie Holiday, and a long list of jazz crooners, O’Donnell has developed a contemporary Southern take on those timeless classics. In January, he traveled to Brooklyn with producer Bob Hoffnar to record at Brooklyn Studios with engineer Andy Taub. The sessions featured acclaimed musicians Steven Bernstein on alto flugelhorn, Carmen Staff on piano, and Tony Scherr on bass. Together, they captured seven passionate live takes, recorded in the spirit and style of the classic jazz era. Please Note: This is a live-taping, so we'll be enforcing a whisper-policy! Cold bottles of still and sparkling water will be available for purchase, but this event is BYOB.
